Made with AI

About

Hi, I'm BlackLizard

bytejuggler.com is my small corner of the web: a place for the software I write for fun and share with whoever finds it useful.

The story so far

It started with graphics effects written as Java applets, back when those ran in every browser. Later I got into 3D and wrote plugins for Cinema4D and Silo. The Indigo Exporter, in particular, grew through more than twenty releases thanks to the feedback of its users. A few Mac scripts followed, written to learn Ruby.

The site then stayed quiet for a long time. In 2026 it has a new look and a new section, the Lab. There I try something different: I define the idea, the design and the quality bar, and an AI (Claude) writes the code. The first result is Space Travel, a real-time demo in the old demoscene style.

The old projects are still here, in the Projects archive, with their downloads and source code.

Timeline

  1. New site & the Lab

A fresh design and coding experiments with AI, starting with Space Travel.

  2. Work, work (and more work…)

…and no time left to come back to this website.

  3. PDF 2 iPod Touch

Ruby scripts to carry PDFs on a first-generation iPod Touch.

  4. Cinema4D & Silo plugins

Indigo Exporter, ArrayObject, SimpleHUD, SiloScript, Mirror Plane.

  5. Java graphics effects

Starfield, water, plasma blobs and an electric field, with source.

What the AI badges mean

I use AI openly, and I want it to be clear what was made how. Pages that involve AI carry one of these two badges in the top-right corner. Smaller items, like cards and lists, use a matching text label.

AI did the making

The code or content was written by AI. I set the direction and the design, reviewed the result and asked for changes until it was right. Everything in the Lab is made this way.

AI lent a hand

I made it, and AI helped with parts of the work: drafting text, building the pages, refactoring or editing. The main pages of this site, like this one, are made this way.

No badge means the work is mine. The archived projects from 1998–2008 were written long before AI coding tools existed. They have only been moved into the new design.

Thanks

To everyone who used the old plugins and sent feedback. A special thanks goes to Micha1138B and Jordan Gantier R. for the German and Spanish translations of the Indigo Exporter, and to Petr, Jackei, MrMoose and WLAD for their renders in the Indigo gallery.
